To Bryan’s family and friends:
To say I was overcome with devastation when I learned that Bryan passed away is an understatement. I had to re-read Andrew’s email four times back-to-back before my mind was able to process that the information was real.
I have been a member of BBT for nearly 3 1/2 years now. Bryan was the first person I had direct contact with, when I was a timid newbie in the chatroom. He became rather acquainted with me early on, as I annoyed him repeatedly with questions about DAS trading software. But he always had the answers. Always. And no matter how many questions I had, and even though probably a hundred other people were asking him for help at the same time, he always responded and seemed happy to do it.
One day, Bryan and I learned that we had both lived in San Diego, and conversations took flight. We talked about having to drive 30 minutes to Chula Vista in order to get to the nearest Chick-fil-A (no longer the case today), the best places to get Mexican food, his days on the boat, what we loved about living there, etc.
Over the next few years, we chatted about anything and everything. I don’t participate in any social media platforms–BBT is as close as it gets– and I would not have thought that it is possible to connect with someone I’ve never met in person or even had an audible conversation with (he did get on the mike several times when I was in the chatroom, so I did get to hear his voice). But it turns out that it is indeed possible because Bryan became a true friend. I still cannot process that he is no longer with us here on Earth, but I am confident that he now rests in the most beautiful and peaceful place.
Bryan was loved by everyone at BBT and certainly by everyone who met him. We were beyond blessed to get to know Bryan and will miss him terribly.
