Strategy 15: Opening Range Break Strategy
Level: Beginner
Experienced Instructor
The Opening Range Break (ORB) setup involves entering a trade when the price breaks out of the opening range, either to the long or short side, with the expectation of a higher probability move in the direction of the break. Key factors in trading the ORB setup include focusing on stocks with high volume and liquidity, avoiding extended entries, and using multiple timeframes, such as 1-minute, 2-minute, and 5-minute charts, to identify imbalances in price action that suggest buyer or seller dominance.
