Bear Bull Traders Family – A Special Invitation
Dear Traders,
This morning, Brian and I traded at the open, and with the ongoing uncertainty of trade wars, the financial markets are experiencing volatility. However, despite the high volatility, I don’t see any signs of systemic risk to the market.
Someone in the chat room asked, “Is this like 2008? What’s your advice for new traders?”
But in reality, this is not like 2008, when the financial sector was on the verge of collapse, creating a true systemic risk for capital markets. Right now, we’re dealing with uncertainty around policies and tariffs, and until those become clearer, volatility will remain. But I don’t believe this is something that poses a fundamental risk to the market as a whole.
This morning, I jokingly asked Brian, “If we placed a market order on you, assuming no slippage, how much could we get?” I guessed around $15-20 million. Brian laughed but didn’t answer. Instead, he said something that truly resonated with me:
I’m a very wealthy person because I have a lot of friends, a great family, a loving wife, children, and grandchildren. I feel incredibly lucky. And in my retirement, I get to trade with great friends and be part of an amazing community.
That really hit home.

Yesterday, I wrote about Warren Buffett’s 2025 shareholder letter. In it, he shared a story about trying to acquire an RV rental company. The owner showed up to the negotiation with his wife and daughter, emphasizing the importance of family. Buffett, a true family man—just like Charlie Munger—has always prioritized family values in both his life and investing philosophy.
That’s exactly what Bear Bull Traders is about. Trading comes and goes, but community is what lasts. Some of you may take breaks from trading, and that’s completely normal, but Bear Bull Traders will always be here for you—like family. And that’s why I want you to join us in Vancouver.
This year, we have an incredible lineup. The first day, TEDx, is completely different from a typical trading conference. It’s not just about live trading and education; it’s about art, performance, and immersive experiences around peak mental resilience and human capital. Fares, our TEDx executive director, describes it as an “immersive experience”—and I couldn’t agree more.
I’ve invested a lot of money into this event, not for financial return (I can make that back in a week of trading), but because I truly want to create an unforgettable experience for my Bear Bull Traders family.
