One Mistake Can Change Everything.

Dear Traders,

People change as they grow, and the impact of that change can be severe. One of the clearest examples is in There Will Be Blood, with Daniel Day-Lewis playing Daniel Plainview. He won an Oscar for that role. The film follows a hardworking oil and gas prospector who becomes extremely successful. But as his success grows, he loses his sense of reality and slides into complete social collapse. At the end, he destroys everything, including his own humanity.

The story is dramatic, but the pattern is real. As people rise, they often stop checking themselves. They drift. And the higher they climb, the more damage one wrong step can cause.

I experienced this myself.

I started with nothing, built wealth through trading, and at one point felt untouchable. Then the two million dollar loss in 2022 hit me, and years later Liberation Day in 2025 humbled me again (you can find these video recaps on YouTube). These losses reminded me that one moment of weakness or overconfidence can take everything away.

A recent interview with Jimmy Wales, the co-founder of Wikipedia, shows the same issue. The host introduced him as the co-founder, which is the fact stated on his own Wikipedia page. Wales got angry, rejected the introduction, and walked out. For years he identified as a co-founder. Later he decided he was the sole founder. The title is not the real problem. The real issue is losing touch with reality and reacting in a way that damages credibility. One insecure moment can create a public embarrassment.
