From One Extreme to Another

I am excited to be back from an incredible and challenging expedition to Cho Oyu. After few weeks of cold weather and snow, I am loving the heat in Dubai now. From one extreme to another. Reaching the summit was no easy feat. The severe weather conditions across the Himalayas forced us to descend back to Tingri town at one point, to wait for a safer window to make the final push. It was a test of patience, resilience, and—above all—risk management.

Just like in trading, climbing a mountain of that magnitude requires knowing when to push forward and when to step back, wait, and reassess. The unpredictable conditions, makes it even more important to make the right calls for safety and success.

Usually, visitors with a climbing permit are required to exit through Nepal. However, due to road closures and the border being washed out, we received special permission to visit Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. While there, we visited the Potala Palace and spent time at a monastery, seeing monks and immersing ourselves in the peaceful surroundings. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, and I highly recommend everyone to visit. The untouched, spiritual atmosphere is truly remarkable. If you’d like to visit Tibet, make sure to go before it becomes commercialized and changes.

Now that I’m back from the Cho Oyu expedition, I’m excited to return to the markets and reconnect with all of you. Starting next week, I’ll be joining the chatroom to trade alongside everyone once again. I can’t wait to dive back into the action.

Yesterday, Avi capitalized on AMD’s volatility by executing a solid two-part Options trade.
