Heading Back to Nepal and Tibet

Dear Traders,

Iā€™m heading back to Nepal and Tibet to take on the sixth-highest peak in the worldā€”Cho Oyu, standing tall at 8,188 meters (26,864 feet)!

This climb is going to push me beyond my limits, right into the ā€œdeath zoneā€ (over 8,000 meters/26,247 feet), where every step is a fight. Itā€™s exactly why I do thisā€”pushing, testing, and finding out how far I can go.

This will be my fourth time traveling to Nepal. The first time I visited in 2015, I read in a book that Nepal is addictive. They said if you go once, youā€™ll be hooked for life. Well, here I am, on my fourth trip, and I can say thereā€™s something truly special about Nepal, Tibet, and Bhutan.

With my friend and brother Dr. Sherpa Nima in Nepal

The people in these Buddhist countries are grateful and happy, and see society as a whole. They may not have much, but they feel rich in spirit. Thatā€™s what I loveā€”thereā€™s no crime because they care for one another. Every time I return, I feel at home, welcomed by the people, the food, the culture, and of course, the mountains.

Cho Oyu is the sixth-highest peak after Everest, K2, Lhotse, and a couple of other giants in the Himalayas. And since no oneā€™s climbing those mountains this season, thereā€™s a real chance I could be the highest person in the world again on my birthday! Just like I was on May 19, 2023, when I stood on top of Everest. Itā€™s an incredible feeling, and itā€™s what drives me.

Visiting Nepal for fourth time.

Cho Oyu sits on the border between Tibet and Nepal, and Iā€™ll need to cross into Tibet to make the climb.

Tibet has always been a place of mystery and spirituality for meā€”ever since watching ā€œSeven Years in Tibetā€ and those documentaries. Now, I finally get to experience it firsthand, with the ultimate reason for going: to climb one of the highest peaks on the planet.

Thank you to everyone following my journey. I might go off the grid for a while since thereā€™s no Starlink in Tibet, but Iā€™ll try to set up a satellite device so you can track my progress. If you donā€™t hear from me for a bit, just know Iā€™m up there, giving it everything Iā€™ve got.

If all goes well and I finish early, I might head over to Namche Bazaar in Nepal to take on Ama Dablam, another holy peak at 6,812 meters (22,349 feet). Letā€™s keep pushing!

Wish me luck as I tackle this beast of a climb and trade safe while IĀ“m out!

To your success,

Andrew Aziz
