I hope everyone had an incredible trading day!

I’m taking a bit of a break today and tomorrow, resting up at base camp at 14,000 feet (4,267 meters), as I gear up for a big climb and trading day on Saturday morning. Wish me luck—if everything goes according to plan, I’ll soon be standing on the summit of Ojos del Salado, the second-highest peak in both North and South America, towering at 6,893m / 22,615ft. It’s an exciting personal goal, and I’m hoping to make it to the top in the coming days!

Even though the air is thin up here at base camp, the internet connection has been surprisingly strong—thanks to Starlink. It allowed me to stay connected with the markets and our community. I managed to trade both Tesla (TSLA) and Robinhood (HOOD) today.

While I didn’t join the live trading session, I made sure to post all my trades in the Announcements tab and in the chatroom so everyone could follow along. It felt great to stay connected with the community, even from such a remote location.

Tesla – Nailed the Call!
At 9:40 a.m. ET, I called out Tesla (TSLA) for a long position in the chatroom. I went long just below $350, and it turned out to be a fantastic trade. Tesla made a powerful move upward, and those who joined me on that trade had the chance to enjoy a massive run. It was a textbook breakout setup, and it played out beautifully.

Robinhood – Earnings Breakout

Robinhood (HOOD) reported earnings last night, and I spotted an Opening Range Breakout (ORB) opportunity right at the open. I entered around $63, and the stock quickly surged to $67, giving me a nice profit. It was a clean and classic ORB setup—the kind we love to see.

Learning from Thor & Brian – A Valuable Reminder

While I was trading, I also tuned in to Thor’s and Brian’s live trading session, and I have to say—I was really impressed. These two senior traders are absolute pros, and listening to their analysis reminded me how much we can all continue to learn from each other.

They shared valuable insights on Volume Price Analysis (VPA), pivot points, and options trading strategies. I watched Brian execute a couple of brilliant options trades, and it made me realize that when I’m focused on my own trades, I sometimes miss out on the amazing educational content being shared in real-time.

This experience made me think—I might start spending more mornings just listening and learning from our senior traders, instead of always leading my own trades. There’s so much value in being present in the chatroom and absorbing the knowledge being shared. If you haven’t taken the time to do that recently, I highly recommend it!

Staying Connected with the Community – Even From the Mountains

Even from up here, I briefly joined the YouTube livestream via Starlink to say hi to everyone. It was such a great feeling to see familiar names in the chat and feel that connection to our community.

Volatility – A Trader’s Dream
One thing I want to remind everyone of—this market volatility is an absolute gift for traders. While it can be challenging for long-term investors and difficult for IPOs, traders thrive in volatility.

I recently read an article on Bloomberg explaining how many IPOs are struggling because the market is just too unpredictable. Imagine trying to take your company public when its stock could be valued at $50 today, $70 tomorrow, and $30 the next day—pricing an IPO in this environment is incredibly difficult.

But for us traders, these price swings create endless opportunities. This is exactly why companies like Robinhood have been reporting strong earnings—because more people are trading, and more transactions mean more revenue for brokers.

Post-election, we’ve also seen a huge surge in options trading, forex trading, and general market activity. This is the best time to be an active trader, and the opportunities right now are truly incredible.

Yes, it might be a tough time for bond investors or long-term stockholders, but for active traders, this is the kind of market we dream about.
