$6,000 in 30 Minutes from Mountains
Dear Traders,
I hope you’re all having a great day! I’m writing this from Laguna Verde base camp in one of the most breathtaking places in northern Chile. Yesterday, I climbed Cerro Ermitaño (6,140m / 20,144ft) as part of my acclimatization for this weekend’s big challenge—Ojos del Salado (6,893m / 22,615ft), the highest active volcano in the world and the second-highest peak in the Americas after Aconcagua.
Ojos del Salado is no joke—its extreme altitude, unpredictable weather, and harsh desert conditions make it one of the most difficult climbs outside the Himalayas. Even though it’s not a technical ascent, the lack of oxygen at nearly 7,000m (23,000ft) makes every step brutal. That’s why I need to climb smaller 6,000m peaks first to acclimatize before attempting the summit.
Today is a rest day at base camp. Thanks to Starlink and a generator, I checked the pre-market and saw breaking news—Apple and Alibaba are teaming up to develop AI for their phones. This was a massive opportunity. As the market opened, my internet briefly cut out, but I caught a perfect trading setup on my phone’s chart.
I decided to trade AAPU (2x Apple ETF). In under 30 minutes, I made $6,000, more than 5% profit on my 8,000-share position. That one trade covered my entire week-long expedition costs! You can see my trade in the chart below.
