Market Volatility, Mental Resilience & A Special Guest at TEDx

Dear Traders,

I hope everyone is making the most of the incredible volatility the market is offering right now. As you all know, the ongoing uncertainty around trade wars has created some wild swings in financial markets. The Nasdaq (QQQ) officially tested a 10% drop from its highs, putting it into correction territory, while the S&P 500 dipped as much as 8% before bouncing back as I write this.

In my opinion, the market feels a little oversold at this point. As many of you saw in the chatroom, I partially exited my VOO position and rotated $2 million into TQQQ and SPXL for a quick bounce. This could turn out to be a very profitable trade—but of course, nothing is guaranteed. The idea is to capitalize on the correction, but I don’t plan to hold these leveraged products long-term.

Many of you might remember back in 2022, I made a costly mistake holding TNA for too long, which wiped out 70% of my net worth. That loss, combined with my divorce—where I lost 50% of my assets and had to commit to seven years of spousal support—pushed me into one of the darkest mental places I’ve ever been. I truly felt like I had lost everything. The thought of shutting down trading for good—or even worse, ending it all—crossed my mind many times.

But I didn’t.

There are over 25 dead bodies in Everest that you have to cross to reach the summit and pass them again to return.

Thanks to the support of my community, my brother, and my close friends like Brian Pezim, I pulled through. That experience forced me to study resilience—what makes some people bounce back while others spiral downward? It became an obsession. It also became a major driving force behind my journey to climb Mount Everest in 2023.

On Everest, mental resilience is everything. You push yourself into the Death Zone, passing the bodies of climbers who never made it back. I remember seeing my first frozen body and thinking, “This person was probably stronger than me, yet here they are, forever.” It was a stark reminder that mental toughness—not just physical strength—is the key to survival and success.

That’s why, this year, I wanted to bring mental resilience and peak performance to the forefront of our TEDx event and summit.

While researching mental resilience, I came across Drew Dudley—and I can’t believe I hadn’t found him sooner. Drew is an incredible speaker, leadership expert, and TED legend, famous for his “Everyday Leadership” talk, which has been viewed millions of times worldwide. He has a unique way of breaking down leadership into small, powerful moments that shape people’s lives—something that resonates deeply with our trading community.

I reached out to Drew and personally invited him to our event, and I’m thrilled to announce that he accepted! He will be delivering two powerful presentations:

• A TED Talk-style keynote on leadership and resilience

• A special headlining speech at our exclusive gala dinner

This is a huge opportunity to learn from one of the most inspiring minds in leadership, and I can’t wait for you all to experience it firsthand.
